Camp- Day 2

Sorry, i got sidetracked.....
'

6:30am- GOD! Mykayla's alarm went off early!!! and now i cant go back to sleep.
7:00am- So after hopelessly laying in bed for half an hour tryingt o get rest, i realized... 3 days of hard hard hard practice. Im kinda scared. Anyways im gonna get up and do my hair so i can go to breakfast before the rush.
7:30am- Breakfast was good, eggs, toast. I just got dressed and I'm gonna leave for gym now.

12:30pm- SOMEONE KILL ME! not really, but how am i going to survive, 5 more practices like these?! Heres the run-down

Vault-Vault wasn't bad at all, we did lots of round-off drills and didn't even go over the vault..?
Bars- Valeri is gone, we have Tom Foster, i really like this guy! We worked on casting with straight arms and tight bodies(mornings are basics...)
Beam- And the trouble begins.... sooo beam basics, not my thing!! I was shaky and wobbly and all over the place, and you wanna know the worst part? MARTA WAS RIGHT THERE! Gosh it was so scary having her yell at me over and over. I just wanted to cry(but of course i didn't because that would lead to more yelling and that would make matters worse.
Floor- Not bad, we went across the floor doing tons or roundoffs, front-handsprings, etc. It was really tiring though because it was back and forth with no rest for 35 mins.
Dance- i Thought i would get a little rest at dance, but boy was i wrong. So much releve, and lifts, and ballet words that i dont exactly know... not fun. But i got through it!

Lineup- Scary stuff man. I mean she yells line up and you better be in line before she takes another step. She basically said good job, see you tonight. And we are dismissed.

1:30- Okay i ate lunch and I am watching stick it right now. I'm really tired, I don't know how I am going to get through evening practice...

3:30- Practice is at 4:30, so I fixed my hair and i am putting on my leo now. Gary told us to be at least 30 minutes early so I'll be taking off in half an hour. BOY IS IT COLD RIGHT NOW!!!!

3:55- Off to gym, check in tonight!

8:00pm- Well I'm alive, and theres something to be said for that am I right?

Bars- We did strap bar work, Tom loves my stalders and even showed me a new trick which is basically a stalder with crossed hand? Very confusing, but could be cool.
Beam- Went a little better, we had to do everything in our routines, just over and over so Tammy could pull us over and give us drills to make the skills better. She likes my flic lay.
Floor- We just tumbled, I did lots of triples and double backs and front twisting, it went by way fast.
Dance- We did leap work across the floor. It is really hot back there!
Vault- Just vaulted, I did a bunch of layouts. I got a lot better at them today, hopefully i can twist tomorrow.

Sorry if it got short, I am just soooo tired......

9:00pm- Showered, and ready to go to bed, it looks soft! Night everyone!

2 more days 2 more days!

Camp: Day 1

Hello everyone, great news... I SURVIVED! lol, haha anyways, i would have posted but i couldn't find internet, sorry. But i wrote these throughout my days so here they are!....

Day One:

5:30 AM- Ughh, I'm up. Gotta go to Lisa's house. Can someone please get me a starbucks?
6:00AM- John is driving us to the airport....
7:35AM- Getting on the plane...
2:00PM- Got off plane, barely got any sleep, yuck! I have strength testing later today!!!
5:00PM- Made it to the camp, me and Mykayla are in room 27, which sucks because its the furthest away and its super freezing outside! Gym starts in 30 minutes so I have to hurry getting ready, I'll check in after gym.
8:15PM- WOAH! I did pretty well on my strength testing, I maxed everything out but piked leg lifts, those are killers! But after that we had 15 minutes on each event, started on vault and we worked the whole time on perfecting our arm swing for our run!
After we went to bars where... VALERI LIUKIN, was coaching us!!!! It was so cool, we worked on casting, he is really picky about straight arms.
Beam, beam, beam.... Tammy wasnt there today]: hopefully she will be tomorrow, but we had some coach I've never heard of before and we did beam complex, which is super hard. You can't come down from releve! My calves are sore!
Floor. Was super weird! we did back extenstion rolls and roundoffs the whole time. But it made me tired!
Dance. I can't understand what the dance teacher is saying... Such a thick accent, but we did work on pointing our feet and going up in releve.
That was my day at gym...
9:00PM-I just finished my shower, which wasn't bad, just cold at the end! Dinner was lasaunga, yumyumm!!! But I'm super tired and am going to bed.

Some Stuff

I couldn't figure out a good title sorry.

SO i found its easier to get my point across using the numbers, what do you guys think?

well here we go....

1. Again, camp is on Saturday, and stefs not going, which is very disappointing. But the show must go on. Hopefully, I will do well enough to get invited back.
2. Yesterday was pretty exciting because I landed a triple full dismount off beam and an arabian double off the rod floor. I hope those skills will catch the national team staffs attention.

So yeah, sorry about all the short posts I'm just busy lately, but no fear, right after camo I'll give you guys a full look at camp, so look out for that!

Sacramento

I'm leaving for my next meet, the Byers Invitational, tomorrow. Not to worry i will keep you posted with scores.

So a few things.
1. The meet on the 11th is canceled, due to a problem with a gym attending. SO that means no American Challenge(please note this is different than the US Challenge which is in July). Sorta upsetting but its ok.
2. WOGA is going to be at this meet! And i'm in the Level 10 open session, which means elites can be in it. So, scary because i will be going up against WOGA elites!!!! so nervous.
3. I might be doing a pre-meet performance at an ASU meet on the 13th. And if so i will do a floor routine(with watered down passes)

Yeah so just a quick update...

2008, a year in review

2008 is by far the best year of my life. Also being an Olympic year just made it even better. I'll reflect on my year in 2008...

  • My level 9 competition season. It felt amazing to finally enter the world of "real" gymnastics as some might say. Although I wasn't the best level 9 it really raised my confidence and made me believe I could actually do something in the sport.
  • HOPES- A really up and down thing. Or as me and my friends call, hell on planet earth sometimes. Even though it adds an extra 7 hours and a pound of pressure to our week it really pays off. The really sucky part about this was routine training after the end of our competition season, which would usually be more laid back workouts. But, when all 4 of us qualified to the Challenge, it all paid off.
  • The US Challenge- My highlight of 2008. I was definitely at my peak and I was feeling great about everything. Traveling with the coaches was especially fun because we HOPES girls got a lot of time to bond in our own hotel room. The competition was great, compulsories were solid fro all of us and going into optionals we didn't know what to expect. Well everything turned out pretty good. I even placed on beam, which btw was a great moment. SO to wrap it all it, I love the thrill of elite competition.
  • Summer- Always a great time of year, we get to work new skills and lay off the routines. Some things I learned but never continued, like my khorkina realese on bars, due to lack of amazingness. And somethings I learned and continued, like my triple full on floor, was awesome because now I have an E.
  • Fall- It's always hard to get into competition mode, putting those routines together was not the easiest thing in the world but I worked through it and got everything down.
  • Injury- Everythingwas going well until a bad punch on a rudi and landing with my head on my wrist and basically breaking it. I went to the doctor and I had a cracked growth plate and some torn ligiments. And believe me, the day I walked in with a brace Lisa flipped! I was like "I'm sorry, i need to be in it for a few weeks" well not really but I wanted to say that. However, with competiton season nearing I had to shrug it off and was out of the brace after one day. Probably a bad decision because my wrist pain drove me to tears on every event. And with no coach except Bruce[bar coach] seeming to care, I just threw a wristguard on and worked thorough it. When I went home every night I iced and put my brace back on. Everything was getting more bearable when yet again [stupid rudi] landed on it wrong, about a week ago. and ever since have not had a pain free moment. I can't even sleep at night now ughh. So my dad got me Litocane, a pain reliever, so I could at least sleep. And now I'm working on avoiding the doctor so they don't put me in a cast.
So thats basically my 2008 gymnastics year. Very up and down and if anyone knows where I could get a wrist healing potion, leave a comment [:
